Un grey hat, anche detto greyhat o gray hat (lett. "cappello grigio"), è un hacker o un esperto di sicurezza informatica che a volte può violare leggi o standard etici tipici dell'hacking, ma di solito non ha l'intento malevolo tipico di un hacker black hat[1][2].
